Ireland’s First Women’s Basketball Team

Congratulations to one of our 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔, Clare Egan (née Grennell), who was recognised at the Ireland v France Women’s match last night for her outstanding contribution to the 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 Ireland Women’s Basketball Team 50 years ago.

Clare’s award was collected on her behalf by her two daughters, Fiona O’Gara & Helen Egan, both integral members of our Division 4 Women’s team and dedicated coaches for our u13(2) boys & u13(1) girls teams respectively. Their commitment mirrors Clare’s passion, shaping the next generation of Killester players.
