Frequently Asked Questions – FAQs
Q. How do I contact my Team / my child’s team?
Ans. Every KBC Team is supported by a Team Manager. The Team Manager operates a Team WhatsApp Group. In order to receive Team notifications and important Club information and updates you should join the relevant Team’s WhatsApp Group. You should only join a Team WhatsApp Group by invitation issued via a Join Invitation link sent by the Team Manager. If you do not know who the Team Manager is you can email info@killester.com with your query and this will be passed on to the relevant Team Manager who will then contact you. Team Managers also attend Team training sessions so you can make contact with a Team Manager by dropping in to a training session.
Q. Will training times and venues change mid-season?
Ans. With over 28 club teams operating at KBC across 4 sports hall venues KBC fixes training times and venues pre-season and as much as possible the training times and venues notified to you by the Team Manager will remain constant for the basketball season. On rare occasions a training time might be re-scheduled or altered and this will be notified to all Team members (or player guardians for players U’18) via the Team’s WhatsApp Group.
Q. What should my child wear for training and for matches?
Ans. For training players should wear comfortable sports gear and sports shoes/runners/boots that provide adequate support. Many Teams used coloured bibs or singlets and the Team Manager will let you know if these need to be purchased for a nominal fee.
For matches KBC owns club team gear comprising a KBC basketball singlet (top) and pair of shorts. This gear is the property of KBC and is loaned from the club to players for each match. Players will always need to bring and wear their own sports shoes/runners/boots. In the main club gear should be returned by each player to the Team Manager at the end of each match to ensure that valuable club gear does not get lost and that there is enough team gear available for the next match.

Q. Where and when can I buy KBC branded sports gear?
Ans. KBC provides opportunities for club members and club supporters to purchase KBC branded sports gear. Club members will be notified of any opportunities to purchase such gear via club communication channels namely Team WhatsApp Groups and the KBC website. For inquiries contact info@killester.com
What do KBC fees actually cover?
Ans. KBC is a wholly voluntary run club. Membership fees contribute to KBC’s income which is used for the daily operation of the club. Costs associated with running KBC include but are not exclusive to Gym/Sports Hall hire, Club Insurance, National Governing Body registration and membership, League and Competition registration, Super League Team operations, purchase of some Team gear and Team equipment. There is always a shortfall between what KBC receives in Player/Membership fees and the actual total running costs of our fantastic club. KBC works hard every year organising a range of fundraising initiatives to ensure that our club can continue to operate and support so many club members. KBC would be delighted to hear from any player or player guardian or club supporter interested in assisting with fundraising. Email info@killester.com if you have a fundraising idea and or if you can give some time to support our Club.
