Less than a week since winning the National Cup title, the Killadies were back in action in the league. The Club was still in celebratory mode after the title, and the game was preceded with a guard of honour, with some of our youngest players accompanying the Cup winners.

In their previous meeting close to the beginning of the season, Wildcats narrowly came out on top. However, the Killester ladies were on a winning streak since November, and were not letting it slide just yet.

The visitors were equally determined to show their worth and they traded baskets throughout the first half, with the Pyrobel Killester women finishing ahead 47-39 at half time. Wildcats fought back in the third, and narrowed the home team’s lead to just one point by the end of the quarter.

Killester came into the fourth reinvigorated, and a switch up in defence allowed them to build on the team’s shooting form, and finish with their eighth victory in a row.

Basketball Ireland have a full recap of all the weekend’s Super League action, including an interview with WSL coach, Karl Kilbride.
