The last time these teams met was in the semi-finals of the National Cup, and the Killadies knocked the Cork team out of the running for the trophy.

Glanmire came to the IWA ready for revenge, and they got off to a strong start. However, Adella Randle El and Rebecca Nagle replied strongly, and by the end of the first half, the home team were leading 33-29.

These teams are well matched, though, and the back and forth continued in the third with Shrita Parker & Tatum Neubert combining well to keep Glanmire’s scoring going, but again getting well matched by the combined force of the Pyrobel Killester women.

With just seconds to go in the last quarter, a three pointer from Louise Scannell looked to be the decider for Glanmire, until a rebound by Ella McCloskey tied the game 75 all on the buzzer.

Overtime saw the home team push hard, but Glanmire edged them out to a hard-fought win.
