It was a very short break for the Pyrobel Killester MSL, and just 3 days after Christmas, they headed West, and all roads led to Moycullen.
Both sides were having similar fortunes in the league so far, and were hoping to finish off 2019 with a win. The Galway team’s visit to Dublin had been a tight game, with the visitors only winning by 2 points in the end.
Killester’s injury tally was still high, and this definitely impeded the team going into the game, though the first quarter saw both teams in the lead at stages. Moycullen pushed hard in the second quarter, and went into half time with a 9 point lead of 40-31.
The third quarter saw the home team defense cope very well with the Killester offence, and boosted Moycullen’s confidence. With only 5 minutes to go in the final quarter, Moycullen were 18 points up.
However, the Pyrobel Killester men continued to battle, and narrowed the points difference to only 5 points, before Moycullen managed to break the scoring run and end the game 9 points ahead of their visitors.
